Things, Lately

1. Chobani is my number one Greek yogurt love. (And I eat Greek yogurt every. Day.) Especially when I get special deliveries like this.

Chobani Delivery

The coffee and dark chocolate Chobani Bite is AMAZING. Also a huge fan of the caramel and pineapple Bite, and the new Pear and Banana flavors often make a morning appearance in my breakfast…paired with sliced banana and crumbled protein date balls, of course.

3. I cannot express how ecstatic I am that I have a man who now loves cooking, eating, and food presentation as much as me. (Oh yeah…not to mention he USED to NOT be a dessert person. Ha!) This is our idea of fun.

4. Wedding invitation design is WAY fun; it is so fun to switch it up and do some pretty, “romantic” work. I also picked up some amazing illustration jobs lately…we’re talking, my biggest, most fun clients ever. Power of positive thinking, my friends. It does WONDERS!

Delia Langan Jewelry’s Valentine’s Day Gift Picks!

You all know how much I LOVE DLJ.

DLJ Banner

Delia Langan’s jewelry is the prettiest I have ever seen; I literally wear her jewels everyday, from my stackable gold Pretty Girl and I’m Hammered rings, to a few necklaces at a time. I just bought these crazy-beautiful earrings and I cannot WAIT to wear them out. It is all so strikingly unique, organic, and delicate, and yet still bold; perfect for layers upon layers, and every single piece I own can be dressed up or down. I wear mostly gold, and I love that her gold pieces are 14K gold-filled…aka, I NEVER take them off and all it takes is a little Windex to keep ‘em sparkling with the best of ‘em. And her gemstones are ah-mazing.

I worked with Delia to create her new Valentine’s Day sparkly logo (glitter and craft paper, woop woop!), and we created a list of her top 10 gift picks for V-day. Boys, grab some of these for your lady friends. Girls, snatch up as much of her ridiculously addicting jewelry as fast as you can; you won’t regret it…a little V-Day (and everyday) ‘treat-yo-self!’ Beau or no beau, you will fall in love with DLJ.

The Balance Artist Faves…in Beauty

These are a few of my favorite things!

TBAFavesBeauty

As a recovering beauty product junkie, I used to be constantly on the lookout for the hottest new thing. But now, as I have began to simplify and purge lots of excess crap from my life, I have chosen some absolute favorites throughout the years…and I keep coming back for these. Plus, they all give a little pep in my step during the yucky, cold, dreary, pale winter months.

1. Urban Decay Naked Eye Palette 1 & 2: Hands down the best color selection in a palette. I own both and use them ALL the time. Perfect for a low-maintenance girl when it comes to makeup, as the colors are gorgeous neutrals, but also can be used to create the prettiest smoky eye.

2. Coconut Oil: I love it for cooking (doesn’t burn at a high heat like EVOO does!), but this stuff is pure magic for your hair. The only leave-in conditioner I use anymore. Does wonders for your brittle ends and parched hair! You can find it in any grocery store with the olive oil.

3. Mac Eyeliner in Teddy: The prettiest eyeliner with amazing staying power. Been a favorite for years.

4. Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Tiger Lily: The only chapstick I buy over and over and over, everytime it runs out. Smooth and not tacky, no overpowering flavor, and the slightest, most natural tint. Love.

5. Sephora Blush in Rose Glow: Natural, light, pretty. Seeing a trend here? Gives a perfect hit of color to paler winter skin.

6. Essie Turquoise & Caicos: Just look at it. It is perfection in a nail polish. Tropical!

7. Benefit Hoola: Love this in the hollow of the cheeks & across the nose and forehead; it’s great year-round, and looks awesome with a little rosy blush on top. Love that it’s not shimmery. And Benefit always has killer packaging. Hoola, you get a gold star in the bronzer category!

8. Loreal Voluminous Mascara: It’s just the best. I’ve tried ‘em all, from department store to drugstore, and this, my friends, wins them all. Makes for easy, feathery, long, full, and bold lashes, all at the same time. Lift, and separate!

9. Philosophy Lotion in Unconditional Love: I love all of their lotions; this one is a fave, but I often pick up limited edition ones that I fall in love with and cry when they are discontinued. Sniff, miss you, Aloha Girl! But their lotions smell the BEST! This one is heaven in a scent. Yum.

10. St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse: Because the evil sun rays scare me. I am petrified of wrinkles and skin cancer, and although I am a beach-lover and sun-goddess through and through, SPF is always at hand! This is hands down the best self-tanner. And again, I’ve tried ‘em ALL! The lotion is even better in the color department (read: darker), but has a much stronger smell. Can’t go wrong with St. Tropez, though.

What are your beauty favorites? Do you love any of these?

Fall Fashion Favorites

1. “Leather” Leggings: These are my latest staple. I wasn’t sure how to style them at first, but now wear them with everything! I am in love. So comfy, and a little badass. ;)
Adriano Goldschmied Leatherette Leggings

2. Sparkly Flats: This is my first ever pair of flats (I’m 5’1…the taller the heel, the better). I am still getting used to the look of my freakishly wide feet in these puppies, but they are super cute and neutral (at least I think so! The bronzey color goes with lots). And they are crazy comfy! Lucky Brand Evonne Flats

3. Intricate Thermals: I have always been a fan of basics, and long and lean thermals are perfect when the weather is chilly. These thermal tops from Free People are my absolute favorite, and my sister and I snap a few up every year. They all have fun little intricacies that add to their character; a notched neck, buttons on the cuff, patterns and designs on the sleeves; they are all a little different and they offer a gazillion colors. Free People Thermals 1//2//3 (The gold one is from last year.)

4. Animal Print Belt: Because you can’t take the Jersey outta the girl. And animal prints are in this season! Lucky me. I poked an extra hole in this belt so I could also wear it around my waist over cardigans and chambray shirts. J.Crew Calf Hair Skinny Belt

5. Sheer Blouses: I love the effortless mix of dressy and casual that these types of shirts exude; tank under them for work, bandeau under them for going out.
1//2 (Ivory shirt is Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s and is from last year)

6. Military Jacket: I have been looking for the perfect military jacket for a while and discovered this one via Colleen at Jimmy Choos on the Treadmill, and I know I will love it even though it is backordered! Should ship this week, fingers crossed!! Just returned one to Old Navy that I ordered online; like most others, it was too overwhelming for my tiny frame. Sad! J.Crew Downtown Field Jacket

7. Colored Denim: I am a colored denim conneissuer. I have peach, cobalt, pinkish-red, mustard, and mint, among others. My latest faves are the Urban Outfitters mint ones and Free People mustard ones. Urban Outfitters BDG Cigarette High-Rise Jean//Free People Colored Ankle Crop (on sale!)

8. Chunky Sweaters: Love them with skinny jeans and boots with tall socks. Free People Marled Yarn Pullover (Blue and brown)//Gap Diamond Cable Crew Sweater (White)//American Eagle (Cream with neon zipper) Sold Out Online

9. Leather & Suede Boots: Frye boots are the best investments…I swear by them; they just get better every year with wear. I even have a vintage pair that I am in love with! I especially love the mixture of textures on these; they are my new favorites. Frye Veronica Slouch Boot

10. Printed Cardigans: Because they are just so cool! And I live in layers; my office is always freezing!!! 1//2//3
